What is Cognilo?
Cognilo is a free daily puzzle app for adults: five short brain games a day, picked for your level across memory, focus, logic, numbers, spatial and language, untimed by default. Your first puzzle starts straight away, with no sign-up and no questionnaire. After each round you get a clear result and a practical tip for next time.
The grid above is a simplified Pattern Recall, the first game most people meet. In the app the pattern grows as you do: the screenshot below shows a level 11 round asking for seven tiles.
One short session, five different puzzles, then you're done for the day.
The brain training games in the Daily 5
Each Daily 5 plays five different categories out of six and rotates them. Here is the full set:
- Pattern Recall
- Hold a lit pattern in mind, then tap it back.
- Signal Sort
- Apply a rule to a stream of signals without slipping.
- Rule Chain
- Find the rule behind a sequence and continue it.
- Real Numbers
- Everyday money and time sums, in your head.
- Rotation Match
- Spot the rotated twin among mirrored impostors.
- Word Bridge
- Unscramble, categorise and spot the odd word.
- Market Run
- Remember a shopping list, keep to a budget, adapt.
- Quick Signal
- A recreational reaction round.
How Cognilo adapts to your level
Every round is set to your current level, and each puzzle tells you in plain language why it was picked today. If a round felt too easy or too hard, say so, and the next one responds.
Progress is slow on purpose. Performance Ratings for the six skills only move when several sessions agree, so one good morning or one tired evening doesn't rewrite your profile. The Cognilo Benchmark uses held-out rounds you never practise, so getting used to the puzzles can't flatter the result.
A design decision we made
No streaks. Rhythm counts days per week instead, and Grace and Vacation cover the weeks life gets in the way. Missing Tuesday shouldn't make you feel like you failed at puzzles.
After each round
- A strategy tip for that specific game.
- Notes on pace versus accuracy.
- An unrated Review replay of any round that slipped, showing what you picked and what the right answer was.
Ratings that move only when the evidence does.
Free and Pro
Free, and complete: the Daily 5, all six skills, ratings, the Benchmark and achievements.
Pro (optional, monthly or annual): Pressure Response and Interference in the Performance Lab, weekly and monthly reports, and up to 12 months of rating history in your current Era.
Honest limits
Ratings describe how you play Cognilo puzzles; they are not a measure of intelligence or health. Purchases and leaderboards need a connection. If you want fast, timed arcade rounds every time, or a clinical memory check, Cognilo is the wrong pick.
Questions about Cognilo
Is Cognilo free?
Yes. The free tier is complete: the Daily 5, all six skills, ratings, the Benchmark and achievements. Cognilo Pro is an optional monthly or annual subscription that adds Pressure Response and Interference in the Performance Lab, weekly and monthly reports, and up to 12 months of rating history. Continue Free closes the paywall without buying.
How long does the Daily 5 take?
About six minutes at a typical pace. Days with the longer Market Run shopping scenario take a little more, and after a few rounds Cognilo shows its own estimate for you before you start.
Are the puzzles timed?
Not by default. Precision mode is untimed and accuracy decides the rating. Sprint adds a clock when you want a push, and Zen is unrated for when you just want to play.
Do I have to keep a streak?
No. Rhythm counts days per week instead of an unbroken streak, and Grace and Vacation cover busy weeks.
Does Cognilo measure intelligence?
No. Performance Ratings describe how you play Cognilo puzzles. The listing is explicit that they are not a measure of intelligence or health.
Does it work offline? Do I need an account?
No account, no ads and no tracking, and it works offline. Purchases, restores and optional Game Center leaderboards need a connection. Your history stays on your device and you can export it as JSON.
What are the six skills?
Memory, focus, logic, numbers, spatial and language. Each Daily 5 plays five of the six and rotates, so every category comes round across the week.
