What is SkillArena?
SkillArena is a set of focus training games for iPhone and iPad: each day's Daily Arena mixes four short games, takes about four minutes, and adapts its difficulty to how you play. The three questions above are the same sort you'll meet in the app: making change, estimating a total, following an instruction to the letter.
Four games, four minutes, a new mix tomorrow.
Focus training games, by length
There is a relaxed pace option for longer timers, and the clock stops if you leave the app mid-round. Every question is generated fresh, so rounds don't repeat word for word.
Pick your fight: the game modes
When four minutes isn't enough, there are five ways to keep going.
- Deep FocusA 30-trial go/no-go precision game. Tap on go, hold on no-go.
- The TowerA new category every floor. How high can you climb?
- Boss GatesSix district bosses, each with a collectible relic.
- Daily DuelOne seeded challenge a day, the same for every player.
- Pressure RoundA fast mixed sprint.
Inside the arena

How progress works in these brain games
Every category gets its own in-game rating from 1 to 100, and the Progress tab shows exactly how it is calculated. On top of that come weekly recaps, achievement tiers, game mastery ranks and personal records.
As you play, you settle into a player class such as Tactician, Sprinter or Architect, and it changes when your play changes. Skill City fills in district by district, and a home-screen widget keeps today's arena one tap away.
A decision we made
No account and no ads. Progress lives on your device. Game Center leaderboards are there if you want them, and every game works offline without them. Miss a day and nothing is lost.
Questions about SkillArena
How long is a SkillArena session?
The Daily Arena is four short games in about four minutes. You can also pick Quick (about 2 minutes) or Extended (about 8 minutes). If you leave the app mid-round, the timer pauses until you come back.
What kind of games are in SkillArena?
Thirteen games across focus, memory, reasoning, numbers, careful reading and clear wording: spotting the signal, repeating patterns, matching names, logic queues, estimating totals, following instructions, picking the clearest message and more.
Is SkillArena free?
SkillArena is free to download, and the App Store listing describes it as a free skill game with no ads and no account. Check the App Store page for any optional in-app purchases before you start.
Is the rating an IQ score?
No. Ratings from 1 to 100 describe how you play SkillArena's own games. They are not an IQ score or a medical, psychological or clinical assessment. The Progress tab shows exactly how they are calculated.
Does SkillArena work offline?
Yes, all games work offline. Optional Game Center leaderboards need a network connection and show your Game Center name.
What happens if I miss a day?
Nothing is lost. Your ratings, Skill City and relics stay where they were; you simply play the next Daily Arena.
Is there a harder mode?
Several. Deep Focus is a 30-trial go/no-go precision game, The Tower changes category every floor, Pressure Round is a fast mixed sprint, and six district bosses each guard a collectible relic.
